Bruce Croft appointed Distinguished University Professor following approval by the UMass Board of Trustees on Feb. 2, 2000. On Bruce’s promotion, then-Chancellor David Scott said, “Prof. Croft has clearly established himself as a world-renowned leader in a key field of computer science.” (Campus Chronicle article 2/4/00)
